The Silk Route Brand was established with the sole aspiration of serving the clothing needs of Muslim women who want to fuse modesty with fashion to suit their contemporary lifestyle needs.


The Silk Route team recognised that a large number of Muslim women were seeking out a Jilbab (long dress) that adhered to the Principles of Islamic dress but at the same time, allowing them to express confidently their special identity of being a strong Muslim woman in a western setting.

The name ‘Silk Route’ was chosen as it best captured the philosophy of this unique brand. The ‘silk route’ was the ancient trade route which connected the emerging Western cultures with the thriving Eastern traditions, helping to build a beautiful exchange of understanding, knowledge and experience. A route that has been so easily forgotten today had laid the foundations, over many centuries, for the excitingly diverse communities we see in the 21st Century. Likewise, The Silk Route Brand has shared the modest approach to clothing found in the Islamic Faith and culture with the trendy, sporty, urban looks, vibrant colours and high grade materials used by many contemporary brands. The end product has had much praise, support and encouragement from the Muslim community especially the many fans and customers we have all around the world.

The Muslim women of today continue to rise above the stereotypes and negative labels directed at them and work hard to contribute to the growth of a wholesome and progressive society that serves humanity as opposed to the individual and Silk Route would like to be that look which best expresses their energy, ambitions and confidence.
